Thoughts on being a physician
"When a patient identifies me as their doctor, I recognize the responsibility it takes to serve in that role. It goes beyond seeing to their health needs both in good health and illness. Patient trust and loyalty deserve to be honored, respected, and continually earned and cared for. The elements of trust and loyalty are the foundation of building healthcare relationships that last a lifetime.

My life has been enriched through getting to know patients and their families over the years. Living and working in a smaller community as a physician continues to be a joy and challenge, but always interesting. I have been greatly supported and encouraged by my patients-- their friendship, loyalty, and the kindness shown to me and my family have been wonderful. Dr. Jennifer Ekin, M.D. has been practicing at South Kingston Internal Medicine since July 2008.  Prior to moving to the Kitsap Peninsula Dr. Ekin served as an assistant professor of medicine with the University of Nebraska, Omaha. She enjoys both primary care and the diagnosis and evaluation of adult patients.
